The Body is the Temple – Dealing with the Soul – Part 8

We are continuing our study of the body.  “I am a spirit, I live in a body, and I have a soul, which is my mind, will and emotions.”  All dealings start from our heart and flow to our spirit.  The heart is the entrance and exit of our whole being; therefore, we first deal with our heart (soul) -> conscience (heart + spirit) -> fellowship (spirit) -> intuition (spirit).  Our intuition is the anointing of God; the “inward knowing” we receive inside.  We interpret our intuition by our soul.  Therefore, our soul must be dealt with for correct interpretations of what the Spirit is telling us.

1 Corinthians 3:16:  Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?   ^NAS

1 Thessalonians 5:23:  May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  ^NIV

John 3:6:  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the (Holy) Spirit is (the human) spirit.  ^{KJ  emphasis added}

John 3:6:  Flesh is born of flesh, but (the human) spirit is born of the (Holy) Spirit.  ^{Berean  emphasis added}

When we speak of the heart, we speak of our soul and part of our spirit.  The Function of the Heart is to love; therefore, it only performs properly in the love walk.  Everything enters us through our outer gates (eye gate, ear gate…), and then enters the inner gate of our heart for further assimilation. Our heart guides our soul, and guides our conscience (part of spirit).   The heart cannot properly guide us if not pure.  Therefore, we MUST turn our hearts to God each day, so that we are made aware of what we must repent of.   This purges our conscience so that our conscience is pure before God and man.   Once the conscience is pure, our fellowship (spirit) with God is open for communication.  Our intuition (spirit) comes through pure fellowship.  The intuition; or “inward knowing” is interpreted by our mind, which is our soul realm.

1 John 4:16b:  God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.   ^NAS

When God seems distant; we know Him in Name only. We don’t hear from Him or know His will.  This means something is wrong in our conscience; our heart has been hardened.  In this event, we must turn our hearts to God, see where we have missed it, repent, and then resume proper fellowship with God where we can receive the inward “knowing’  of our intuition.  We interpret this inward knowing with our soul realm (mind).   

Acts 24:16:   And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.  ^KJ

2 Timothy 1: 3:   I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience…

1 John 1:5-7:   5 And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. *6 If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.  ^Berean

1 John 2: 11:   But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 
1 John 2: 26, 27:   26 These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. 27 As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.

                                                  MIND:
Romans 12:2:  Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. ^{NLT world-}

Romans 8:6:  The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.  ^NIV

KJ:   For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
