Courage – The Power of Faith
God expects His children to walk in faith. Walking by faith takes courage. Faith is the key to unlocking all the promises of God, but it must be mixed with corresponding action and a strong resolve; meaning a strong decision to decide God’s Word is absolute Truth. “I will believe over everything I am facing.” Courage is the attribute a believer needs to stand against the enemy, and trust the Word, because the enemy is going to constantly test you, and constantly try to disappoint you by tripping you up so you don’t believe God. Satan wants you to believe what you see, and that brings fear. This is the game the enemy plays. The devil will cause you to look at your circumstances, and believe what you see (the unbelief) over God.
Scriptures:
Joshua 1:7: Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. NKJ
Hebrews 3: 12-19: 12 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a wicked heart of unbelief that turns away from the living God. 13 But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. 14 We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly to the end the assurance we had at first. 15 As it has been said:
“Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as you did in the rebellion.”
16 For who were the ones who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? 17 And with whom was God angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did He swear that they would never enter His rest? Was it not to those who disobeyed? 19 So we see that it was because of their unbelief that they were unable to enter. Berean
Hebrews 11: 1-3: Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen. 2 This testimony of faith is what previous generations were commended for. 3 Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen. TPT
Hebrews 11: 4: Faith moved Abel to choose a more acceptable sacrifice to offer God than his brother Cain, and God declared him righteous because of his offering of faith. By his faith, Abel still speaks instruction to us today, even though he is long dead. TPT
Genesis 4: 3-6: 3 So in the course of time, Cain brought some of the fruit of the soil as an offering to the LORD, 4 while Abel brought the best portions of the firstborn of his flock. And the LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but He had no regard for Cain and his offering. So Cain became very angry, and his countenance fell. 6 “Why are you angry,” said the LORD to Cain, “and why has your countenance fallen? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you refuse to do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires you, but you must master it.” Berean
