Butterflies for God – Part 3

We have been talking about the divine nature of God. The Lord wants the Church to function in the divine nature like Jesus did.  Remember, Jesus is coming back for a Church that is without spot or blemish.  He is looking for a body of believers who are replicating Him; copying Him.  A butterfly for Christ is a believer who walks, talks and functions firsthand in the Word of God, by acting on the promises that are in the Word, so the divine nature flows through them.

2 Peter 1: 3, 4:  3 Everything we could ever need for life and complete devotion to God has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness.  4 As a result of this, he has given you magnificent promises that are beyond all price, so that through the power of these tremendous promises you can experience partnership with the divine nature, by which you have escaped the corrupt desires that are of the world.  TPT

2 Corinthians 1:20:  For all the promises of God are “Yes” in Christ. And so through Him, our “Amen” is spoken to the glory of God.  Berean

20 For all of God’s promises find their “yes” of fulfillment in him. And as his “yes” and our “amen” ascend to God, we bring him glory!  TPT

John 14:15, 23, 24:  If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.  23 Jesus replied, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words. The word that you hear is not My own, but it is from the Father who sent Me.   Berean

1 John 5:3:   For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.  NKJ

John 15: 1-4:   “I am a true sprouting vine, and the farmer who tends the vine is my Father. 2 He cares for the branches connected to me by lifting and propping up the fruitless branches and pruning every fruitful branch to yield a greater harvest. 3 The words I have spoken over you have already cleansed you. 4 So you must remain in life-union with me, for I remain in life-union with you. For as a branch severed from the vine will not bear fruit, so your life will be fruitless unless you live your life intimately joined to mine.  TPT

James 4: 7, 8:   7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.  NAS

Hebrews 3: 12:  Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; NKJ

12 So search your hearts every day, my brothers and sisters, and make sure that none of you has evil or unbelief hiding within you. For it will lead you astray, and make you unresponsive to the living God.  TPT

Matthew 16: 24, 25:  24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. 25 “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If you truly want to follow me, you should at once completely reject and disown your own life. And you must be willing to share my cross and experience it as your own, as you continually surrender to my ways. 25 For if you choose self-sacrifice and lose your lives for my glory, you will continually discover true life.  But if you choose to keep your lives for yourselves, you will forfeit what you try to keep.   TPT

God’s divine nature and His tremendous promises, all the promises (Scriptures) in the Word, are yours! When you accepted your responsibility for your sins, acknowledged you needed a Savior, and asked Jesus to save you, by submitting your will to Him.  Then all those precious promises in the Word of God became yours instantly.  The price you pay for them is to submit yourself and your will to God.   You must deny your own life, take up your cross every day, and follow Jesus and His commands, which are not burdensome.  How do you do that?  Turn your heart to Jesus.  Let Him be your vine and you learn to be His branch.  Every morning say, “Lord, not my will, but thy will be done through me today, here on earth as it is in heaven.  Take my life Lord; feed me as Your branch.  Direct me into Your perfect will.  Speak to me what I am to do today.  Teach me Your Word as I read it.  Fill me with your wisdom.  Help me keep a watch over my tongue and the words I speak, so they bring you glory.”

Then sit still for a while, and learn to be quiet.  As you train your senses to do this, you will learn to hear the inner voice that whispers on the inside of you direction.  Or you may just have a knowing; this knowing comes with a peace, and a green light, a smooth velvety feeling saying, “Yes or go!”
