Where Do You Place Your But

Where do you place your "but..."
83% of Christians fail to receive answers to their prayers because they waver and slip out of faith before the answer comes. Why? Because we lack patience. Whenever we have an urgent need, we pray for help. When that help doesn’t come on our time-schedule, we think God is not going to meet that need. When the truth is, He already has. So, we slip into doubt and unbelief. (old truck)

Janes 1:2-8 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (NKJ)

Hebrews 6:11-12 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (NKJ)

Hebrews 11:32-35 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again. (NKJ)

You may be thinking, “Well, I’m happy for them, but what about me? How do I get what they got?” Before we can walk as Jesus walked, and talk as Jesus talked, we must think as Jesus thought. All action is a result of thought.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, (NKJ)

Ephesians 4:17-24 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart19 They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. 20 But that is not the way you learned Christ!— 21 assuming that you have heard about Him and were taught in Him, as the truth is in Jesus, 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. (Berean)

Our mouths get us into trouble because of what we are thinking.

Matthew 12:34b Jesus said, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” (NKJ)

This is where we get into trouble with our faith. We put our buts in the wrong place. We say things like, “I know somewhere in the Bible it says, ‘By His stripes I am healed,’ but the doctor says …” “I know what the Bible says, but this pain in my heart won’t go away!” “I know God wants to bless and prosper me, but my checkbook says I broke.”
It’s time to move our buts. Flip the script on the enemy by confessing what you want instead of what you have.
Say instead, “I know the doctor said it’s terminal, but 1 Peter 2:24 says, ‘who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.’
Instead say, “This pain is lingering on, but He bore my grief and sorrow according to

Isaiah 53:4-5 which says, ‘Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.’

Instead say, “I know my checkbook says I’m broke, but God’s Word says in…

3 John 1:2 ‘Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.’

Isaiah 53:1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

Whose report are you going to believe? The doctor’s, only in the things you can see, or the Promises God has made?

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. (KJV)
