Cause and Effect

Words have importance even if you don’t really mean what you say. The Devil does not have the power nor authority to speak into your life and change it. That is why he works so hard trying to get you to speak negative things. Your words carry the power of life or death. It is your choice.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words. (TMB)

Matthew 12:37 Jesus said, “For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” (NIV)

Proverbs 4:20-25 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my words. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them and medicine to all their flesh. 23 Above all else, guard thy heart; for out of it flows the issues of life. 24 Put away from thee the perversion of the mouth, and the deviation of the lips put far from thee. 25 Let thine eyes look upon that which is right, and let thine eyelids straighten thy path before thee.  (NKJ)

Proverbs 4:20-25 Dear friend, listen well to my words; tune your ears to my voice. 21 Keep my message in plain view at all times. Concentrate! Learn it by heart! 22 Those who discover these words live, really live; body and soul, they’re bursting with health. 23 Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. 24 Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. 25 Keep

your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. (The Message Bible)

Psalm 107:20 He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. (NKJ)

Proverbs 13:3 Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything. (NLT)

Proverbs 21:23 Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity. (NIV)

Matthew 15:11 Not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man. (NKJ)

You are created after the image of God from the spiritual realm. You are a spirit, you have a soul (mind, will and emotions), and you live in a body. The spiritual realm is the cause which effects the physical realm (your body).

Luke 13:10-13 And Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11 And, behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no way lift herself up. 12 And when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him, and said unto her, Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity. 13 And He laid His hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

Sickness is a malady of the mind. Your problem is not with your physical body. It is a sickness of your belief system.

Proverbs 23:7a …for as a man thinks in his soul (mind, will, emotions), so is he… (NKJ) (emphases mine)

Sickness in your body is only a manifestation of the sickness in your thinking (where you believe).

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes. (NKJ)

Your attitude will determine your altitude. You cannot rise above the self-imposed limits of your own ceiling. Your thinking is that ceiling. Your mind thinks something. Your will decides if it is true or not based on what you choose to believe (what you receive as true or false). Therefore, sickness is a choice just as health is a choice. What will you choose to believe?

Philippians 4:8- 9 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. (NLT)

Why are we instructed by the Word of God how to think? Because that is how God thinks.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: (NKJ)

1 Corinthians 2:13-16 When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. 14 But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. 15 Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. 16 For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach Him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ. (NLT)
