Agree With God
Do you believe God is a righteous judge? Do you trust He knows what He is doing? Do you accept what He says above anyone else? Our thinking must change to line up with His thoughts toward us.
Romans 4:3-8 For what says the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.4 Now to him that works the reward is not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that works not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6 Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputes righteousness without works, 7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. (NKJ)
Counted, Impute = Greek = logízomai (log-id’-zom-ahee) (the root of the English terms “logic, logical”) – properly, compute, “take into account”; reckon (come to a “bottom-line”), i.e. reason to a logical conclusion (decision).
Justify, Righteous = Greek = dikaióō (dik-ah-yo’-o) “right, judicial-approval” – properly, approved, especially in a legal, authoritative sense; to show what is right.
1 Corinthians 13:5 It (love*) is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. (NKJ) (*emphases mine)
1 John 4:8 He that loves not knows not God; for God is love. (NKJ)
2 Corinthians 5:17-21 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 That is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He (God*) has made Him (Jesus*), who knew no sin, to be sin for us; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (Jesus*). Reconcile = Greek = katallássō (kat-al-las’-so) (from 2596 /katá, “down to an exact point,” intensifying 236 /allássō, “to change”) – properly, decisively change, as when two parties reconcile when coming to the same position.
John 17:14-26 I (Jesus*) have given to them Your word [the message You gave Me]; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world and do not belong to the world, just as I am not of the world and do not belong to it. 15 I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but that You keep them and protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth [set them apart for Your purposes, make them holy]; Your word is truth. 18 Just as You commissioned and sent Me into the world, I also have commissioned and sent them (believers) into the world. 19 For their sake I sanctify Myself [to do Your will], so that they also may be sanctified [set apart, dedicated, made holy] in [Your] truth. 20 “I do not pray for these alone [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for [all] those who [will ever] believe and trust in Me through their message, 21 that they all may be one; just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe [without any doubt] that You sent Me.
22 I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected and completed into one, so that the world may know [without any doubt] that You sent Me, and [that You] have loved them, just as You have loved Me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given to Me [as Your gift to Me], may be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
25 “O just and righteous Father, although the world has not known You and has never acknowledged You [and the revelation of Your mercy], yet I have always known You; and these [believers] know [without any doubt] that You sent Me; 26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will continue to make it known, so that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them (overwhelming their heart), and I [may be] in them” (AMP)
