The Revelation of the Cross – Pt. 2

We have been looking at the details of what the work of the cross entailed.  As we unpeel the onion of Scripture, we find many things restored to man from the work of the cross.  God has two creations in this universe; angels and man.  The old creation of both were done away with through the cross, and the new creation is what we live in now.   Today we will see how Jesus made all things new.  Are you walking in the new creation, or do you still walk in the nature of the old creation?

1)  Lucifer and fallen angels produced Satan and his kingdom->
Part of the old creation Jesus removed from power.

Luke 10: 17, 18:  17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in Your name.” 18 So He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heavenBerean

Revelation 12: 3-5:    3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems. 4 And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.  5 And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne.  NAS   diadems – a crown worn by royalty, sovereignty or regal powers

Isaiah 14: 12-1712 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:  14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.  16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; 17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?  KJ

2) God created man in His image and likeness as good.  Man fell becoming fallen man.  Man’s pure body became “sinful flesh.”  Man’s pure soul focused on God became self-willed focused on “self.”  Men who follow God’s redemptive plan of salvation through Jesus Christ become new creations.  Men who refuse continue living blinded by the world system following worldly rules, principles, ideologies, schemes, tactics, laws, thinking processes, fear-based antics and distractions.

2 Corinthians 4: 4:   In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. Galatians 2: 18-21:   18 “For if I rebuild what I have once destroyed, I prove myself to be a transgressor. 19 “For through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God. 20I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. 21 “I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.”  NAS
