The Battle is Not Yours – Part 3

All battles in the life of a believer are to be fought by God.  Yet we still have to decide where we will take our stand.  Remember, we are a 3 part being: spirit, soul and body.  Our soul is our life and “operating system” much like a computer.  However we program our soul is how our life will operate.  Therefore, if we want God to fight our battles, our soul must surrender its operating system to God.  If we want to control our own life, it is the same as allowing the world system to control our operating system like a puppet.  The world system influenced and operated by the devil is constantly fighting from the outside to control our flesh, our soul and our spirit.  God operates from the inside of our rebirthed spirits to influence our soul to control our flesh.  We choose who fights our battles by choosing who we believe, who we follow, who we serve. Do you want God to fight your battles?  Or do you want the world system to program your operating system?  It’s up to you!
Scriptures:

John 16:33:  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the worldKJ
2 Corinthians 5:17:   Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become newKJ
NLT:   This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

Colossians 1:13:   He has rescued us from the dominion of  darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son.

Matthew 16: 21-24:   21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. 22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!” 23  But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” 24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” 25  For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.  NKJ  himself—means “self” his, her, you, your,my,thee, thy, alone or otherwise, own conceits -> the self    life- psuche –  mind, soul-> rationale thinking
Romans 12: 2:   And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.  NKJ

Matthew 10: 37-39:   37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. Luke 9: 23-25:   23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. 25 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?  NKJ     life-psuche-mind, soul -> rationale thinking

When we deny self; we deny soul.  Our soul is our self- life because it is our mind and rationale.  Your self life follows the world.  If we give up the love of the world, we lose our soul.  God can then be our Lord, and be in control of fighting our battles for us. However, if we continue to choose our self-life, the world system, run by Satan, will be our guide.  Therefore, when we choose our self- life (will-rationale) to direct us, we will fight our battles alone.

John 12: 23-26:   23 But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. 25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.   NKJ    life – psuche – mind, soul -> rational thinking
Matthew 13: 24, 25, 28, 29, 30:   24 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 28 The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ 29“ ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30  Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’ ”   NKJ

Galatians 2:20:  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.   KJ

Place all activities and decisions you make daily on the cross. Do not reason whether what you are doing is good or bad.  This only brings confusion.  Ask the simple question, “Lord, is this your will, or am I doing this to please others, or myself for my own benefit and purpose?”
