Living on the Right Side of the Cross

Forgiven through death, but Alive by resurrection!

 Hebrews 2:3-9;14-16 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

4God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?

5For unto the angels has he not put in subjection the world to come, of which we speak.

6But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that you are mindful of him? or the son of man, that you visit him?

7You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor, and did set him over the works of your hands:

8You have put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he (God) put all in subjection under him, he (God) left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

9But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

10For it befitted him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

11For both He that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brethren,

12Saying, I will declare your name unto my brethren, in the midst of the congregation will I sing praise unto you.

13And again, I will put my trust in Him. And again, Behold I and the children whom God has given Me.

14Since then the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

15And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

16For verily He took not on Himself the nature of angels; but he took on Him the nature of Abraham.

Genesis 1:26- 28  And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.  27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created he them.  28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

Hebrews 5:17-19 For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).18 Well then, as one man’s trespass [one man’s false step and falling away led] to condemnation for all men, so one Man’s act of righteousness [leads] to acquittal and right standing with God and life for all men.19 For just as by one man’s disobedience (failing to hear, heedlessness, and carelessness) the many were constituted sinners, so by one Man’s obedience the many will be constituted righteous (made acceptable to God, brought into right standing with Him).
