There is little doubt that our nation is growing worse. The Bible does tell us this would happen. But what are we supposed to do about it? Just ride it out and watch as our nation deteriorates hoping we don’t get caught in the middle of all the evil and chaos? God always has a plan for healing and restoration. But it doesn’t just happen on its own. He chooses to work through His body (Believers). Let’s take a look at Scripture and see where we may be missing it. All plans have a day of implementation.
Matthew 24:36-39 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. (NKJ)
Matthew 16:1-3 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them,
“When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. (NKJ)
2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, (NKJ)
Acts 2:17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. (NKJ)
Acts 1:6-8 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (NKJ)
Here is where we begin to see how the Lord plans on healing our nation – by our witness. We are not the prosecuting attorney, we are not the Advocate, and we are certainly not the Judge. We are the ones who testify about the things we have learned about our Heavenly Father.
Matthew 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (NKJ)
You cannot fill this room with enough darkness to expel the light. Darkness is not an occupying force. It simply resides in the space vacated by the light.
Daniel 2:20-23 Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. 21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. 22 He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him. 23 “I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of You, (NKJ)
God desires to heal this nation. How do you think He’s going to do it? He is going to heal it through His Body; you and I.
2 Chronicle 7:14 If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (NKJ)
Healing doesn’t depend on what sinners do, whether they repent or not. It depends on us – we who are called Christians. It’s as simple as the choices we make. Even down to who we vote for.
We are not voting on a messiah. No one person is perfect. All candidates have flaws. Whose platform aligns the closest with biblical principles?
Abortion, LGBTQIA+, {Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual (fluid), + (two-spirited, nonbinary, pansexual, demisexual)}, Woke (racist because born white), DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)
Not voting is a vote for the wrong standard. We must put action to our faith. Vote your values. If you don’t stand for something, then you will fall for anything.
