Dr. Heidi V. Lewelling is an ordained minister with the World Ministry Fellowship. She grew up as a Catholic familiar with Christianity through the Catholic Church. “At that time, if you were Catholic, you just said, ‘I’m a Catholic.'” However, in 1983 after dealing with an emptiness she couldn’t fill and a force keeping her in what she describes as a bubble of protection; she began her search. She knew she had always been different. Then she met a man who told her to read the Bible, and that was when her journey for truth and purpose began.
“I had a paradigm shift of thought about religion; how we worship, acting holy, being in a place with images and ceremonies, doing works to earn favor, but no real power. It all seemed dead and lifeless. It’s nice to be in a building that is peaceful and beautifully decorated, but without having the inward spirit alive, you walk away empty.” When I met Jesus; meaning came back into life and answers gave way to purpose. I had no idea I could be so close to the Lord and literally walk with Him every day. The Bible changes the way a person thinks, and I needed a complete overhaul in my thinking. “I was searching for that force that protected me. That force that was a bubble around me. I always knew I was different. My family could see it, and others, but I didn’t understand why…until I met Jesus.”
Her Studies
Heidi began to seek the calling God had on her life to teach immediately. Through intense study of the Bible, she came to understand true Christianity had very little to do with religion and everything to do with relationship. She began to see the differences in all the various denominations, and how they patterned themselves around what groups of people thought rather than the Word of God. After many years in ministry, Heidi obtained her Doctorate in Theology.
