Greatest Giver of All

John 3:16a For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, … (NKJ)
God’s love is not a “one-and-done” type of love. It is a love that keeps on giving and giving and giving.

Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. God is not a “set-and-forget-it” type. He wants to be continuously involved with His children.

Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (NKJ)

God enjoys seeing His children prosper.

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (NKJ)

God wants us to be involved with His blessing. He gives us a part to play. First, we must speak it and then we must act on it.

Psalm 32:27 Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor My righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” (NKJ)

God does not withhold any good thing.

Psalm 84:11-12 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. 12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!

We are instructed to act like God who is so loving and giving.

Ephesians 5:1-2 Be imitators of God, therefore, as beloved children, 2 and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant sacrificial offering to God. (Berean)

1 John 2:6 Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked. (Berean)
The reason for prosperity is not so we can have more stuff, it’s so we can give to others.
Philippians 4:18-20 I have all I need and more, now that I have received your gifts from Epaphroditus (devoted to love). They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God. 19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. 20 To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Let’s follow the example Jesus taught with His words and in His actions.

Luke 6:38 Jesus said,” Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over shall men put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” (NKJ)

Proverbs 11:24-25 One gives freely yet gains even more; another withholds what is right, only to become poor. 25 A generous soul will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. (Berean)

We must look for opportunities to give.

1 John 3:16-18 By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 17 If anyone with earthly possessions sees his brother in need, but withholds his compassion from him, how can the love of God abide in him? 18 Little children, let us love not in word and speech, but in action and truth. Giving is very important. However, the condition of our heart is most important. It’s the “why” behind the gift that matters.

2 Corinthians 9:6-15 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each one should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not out of regret or compulsion. For God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written: “He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”
10 Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your store of seed and will increase the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way to be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will produce thanksgiving to God. 12 For this ministry of service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanksgiving to God.
13 Because of the proof this ministry provides, the saints will glorify God for your obedient confession of the gospel of Christ, and for the generosity of your contribution to them and to all the others. 14 And their prayers for you will express their affection for you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
