Today I am going to take
you on a journey to reveal how we became
righteous. It’s important we understand
God’s plan, how Jesus followed it, and how it redeemed us from the curse, and
gave us the gift of righteousness. We
will look at how fallen man was the center of the old creation, and how fallen
man, was restored by faith in Jesus Christ, and the redemption He took for all
believers on the cross.

Luke 9: 23,24: 23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. KJ himself is same as “self” such as herself, themselves, yourself, etc. the self is the “soul” and the soul and the soul – psuche – rational thinking
24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. Life-psuche – mind, soul, rational thinking
When we examine Scripture we see Satan; the enemy of God, deceived man to act against God. When man did so, sin was injected into human life. It was injected into the flesh of man, and it was injected into the soul of man. Man’s pure body became the body of fleshly sin. Man’s pure eyes being opened shows us the soul was now dominated by our fleshly “self.” Therefore, just as sin corrupted our pure bodies making them “sinful flesh.” Sin caused man’s eyes to be opened corrupting the soul realm of our rational thinking to focus on “self.” The soul was created by God, but it became “self” after Satan’s influence. Self wants to do things its own way, often against God which is nothing more than following the world system. The world is controlled by the “god of this world;” therefore, following self is following the world. The world was not created by God. God created the earth. Satan invented the world (kosmos-system).
John 3:14: And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, thus The Son of Man is going to be lifted up, Aramaic
Numbers 21: 8, 9:
8 Then the LORD said
to Moses, “Make a snake and mount it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks
at it, he will live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze snake and mounted it
on a pole. If anyone who was bitten looked at the bronze serpent, he would
recover. Berean
Jesus said just as the serpent was lifted up, so was He. The serpent was made of bronze, it was not a
real serpent, but it represented the likeness of Satan. Jesus hung on the cross, not as the devil,
but representing the likeness of sinful flesh.
