The Revelation of the Cross – Part 4

In this series, we have looked at the fallen nature of man and the fallen nature of Satan and the angels.  Today we will review how God judged Satan and the fallen angels, and how God restored man.  As we do, we must become deeply impressed with the kind of death Jesus took on the cross for us.  We need to fully understand He took everything to do with the fall, and completely changed our position, authority, nature and destiny.  The process of how man was restored to his right-standing with God is understood by the revelation of the cross.

                                           SCRIPTURES:

Satan was cast to earth, but God’s final judgment condemning him to hell was already in place.  Satan wanted mankind to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil so man would have “Sin” in him; the sinful nature of Satan in him.

your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trading; therefore I brought fire from your midst; it devoured you, and I turned you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all who saw you. 19 All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; you have become a horror, and shall be no more forever.” ’ ”   NKJ

Luke 4: 5-8:   5  Then the devil led Him up to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6 I will give You authority over all these kingdoms and all their glory,” he said. “For it has been relinquished to me, and I can give it to anyone I wish. 7 So if You worship me, it will all be Yours.” 8 But Jesus replied, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.  Berean

Sin entered man at the fall, but Christ came as a fleshly man, representing the old creation, yet without sin. So He went to the cross, as the old creation, literally in the likeness of the serpent who was the epitome of all Sin.  On the cross, Jesus removed everything to do with the sinful old creation restoring man as righteous before God through Him.
